Eiderducks and people sharing cultures

As part of the Conference of the Birds recidency on Selvær we presented our artistic and scientific work to the people on the island. Karoline Hjorth and Ritta Ikonen aka Eyes as big as Plates talked about their way of working with people in their particular natural habitat. The biologist Thomas Holm Carlsen talked about his scientific research on eiderducks together with the eider carer on the island, Eivind Hansen. And the artist and curator Eva Bakkeslett was talking about her work with birds. The setting was the old missionary and a local committee were taking well care of us, serving cakes and rolls to the curious public. A grand welcoming!
