Jessica Sunnebo’s Master thesis from 2023 explores the Swedish poet Nina Södergren’s (1924–2015) poetry through an ecocritical and animistic lens. Birdpoetic Worlds: Sensing the more-than-human worlds through Nina Södergren’s bird poems, aims to identify and explore how Södergren’s bird-poetics can function as an invitation to sensing a relational experience and interconnectedness with the more-than-human world. It focuses in particular at Nina Södergren’s embodied approaches to writing poetry, attentively listening and immersing herself in nature’s soundscapes and the presence of the birds.
